Mr. Schiff: The FBI identifies bad guys by  fingerprints.  FBI Assistant Director Tom Bush used to search the prints with his eyes and a magnifying glass to identify people...
Mr. Bush: "We were weeks, if not months sometimes, getting responses back.  And I don’t think anybody can even  imagine going back to those days.”

Mr. Schiff: Bush says with prints on computer now, 150,000 fingerprints a day are searched...
Mr. Bush: "Our responses back to law enforcement is around the 12 to 15 minute time frame.”

Mr. Schiff: Bush says the future features what’s called “Next Generation Identification” or NGI...
Mr. Bush: "Not just be in the world of fingerprints, we want to be able to search facial images; we want to be able to search iris; we want to be able to search palm prints.”

Mr. Schiff: The FBI has 56,000,000 fingerprints on file in West Virginia.  I’m Neal Schiff of the Bureau and that’s what’s happening at the “FBI, This Week.”
