Mr. Schiff: Don’t think gangs are just having turf and drug battles in large cities. FBI Special Agent Michael Brunton is the Chief of the FBI’s National Gang Intelligence Center. He says gangs are going rural…

Mr. Brunton: "Some of it has to do with prisons; when they get out of prison. If they’re in a particular area they tend to stay there; they have a family member that moves to a particular area for a job.”

Mr. Schiff: Brunton says that gangs mostly are heavily involved in drug dealing…

Mr. Brunton: "Along with alien smuggling, armed robberies, assaults, auto thefts, extortions, frauds, home invasions, identity thefts, murders, weapons trafficking, mortgage fraud.”

Mr. Schiff: In New Jersey at the FBI’s Newark office, Special Agent John Havens says gangs are into prostitution…

Mr. Brunton: "By taking over existing rings through strong arm tactics because they realize the amount of cash involved.”
