Washington, D.C. – John E. Lewis was recently named Special
Agent in Charge (SAC) of the FBI’s Phoenix Field Office by FBI Director
Robert S. Mueller III. Mr. Lewis, who has contributed nearly 30 years of dedicated

As SAC of the Phoenix Field Office, Mr. Lewis will oversee all FBI operations
in the state of Arizona including Resident Agencies in Flagstaff, Gallup, Lake

Director Mueller said, “John takes with him a wealth of knowledge and

He has already successfully led a Field Office in an earlier assignment as
SAC in Oklahoma City. I look forward to working with him in his new role as
SAC in Phoenix.”
Mr. Lewis began his FBI career in July 1977 and became a Special Agent in
February 1982. Since then he has worked a variety of assignments such as Violent
