WANTED BY THE FBI
Our Newest Weekly Podcast

03/17/09

Wanted by the FBI
A new FBI podcast will focus each week on wanted fugitives from our 59-year-old Top Ten list, as well as other criminals and missing persons. Wanted by the FBI was launched March 17 and is our fifth podcast, available on our website and on iTunes.

The Wanted episodes—produced by the FBI’s Neal Schiff, a longtime radio veteran—will feature fugitives from the lists of wanted terrorists, kidnappers, bank robbers, and scammers.

“We often rely on the public for help with our investigations,” said Ken Hoffman, chief of our Investigative Publicity and Public Affairs Unit. “These new podcasts provide another avenue for us to reach out for help with investigations involving fugitives, kidnappings, missing persons, and unknown subjects.”

In the first Wanted episode, Special Agent Brad Bryant, chief of the Violent Crimes Unit, describes how the FBI Top Ten list came into being in March 1950.

The audio podcasts can be found on our podcasts page and also via our news feeds. In addition to Wanted by the FBI, our podcasts include:

  • Inside the FBI, a compilation of video and audio podcasts that focuses on breaking news and topical subjects and offers a glimpse inside FBI operations.

  • FBI This Week, an ABC Radio Networks public affairs program and a two-time winner of the prestigious Gold Screen Award from the National Association of Government Communicators that provides a behind-the-scenes look at the FBI and its responsibilities and accomplishments.

  • Gotcha, a weekly series featuring a closed case in which the FBI, often working with local and state police and other federal agencies, solves a crime and makes arrests.

  • FBI 100: A Closer Look, an archived series of interviews with FBI Historian Dr. John Fox, who shared his perspectives and insights on our past as the Bureau celebrated its 100th anniversary.
