Type of activity
At the time of their attacks, the officers were assigned to patrol or guard duty.
- 8 of the 9 officers were assaulted with personal weapons, such as hands, fists, or feet.
- 1 officer was assaulted with a vehicle.
Law enforcement authorities identified 7 suspects in the assaults on U.S. Capitol Police officers. At the time of this report:
- 3 suspects were found guilty.
- 4 suspects were either found not guilty or the charges against them were dismissed.
