In 2007, the total number of persons arrested decreased less than 1 percent (0.3) from the number arrested in 2006.
For violent crimes, the number of persons arrested decreased 1.1 percent from 2006 to 2007.
The 2-year trend showed the number of juveniles (persons under age 18) arrested in 2007 decreased 1.6 percent from the number arrested the previous year.
The number of juveniles arrested for violent crimes decreased 2.8 percent during the 2-year period.
The number of persons arrested for murder and nonnegligent manslaughter declined 0.1 percent. The number of juveniles arrested for this offense rose 2.8 percent.
For property crimes, the number of adults arrested in 2007 increased 5.9 percent from the number arrested in 2006; the number of juveniles arrested increased 3.9 percent.
