  • Males accounted for 77.3 percent of all persons arrested in nonmetropolitan counties in 2006.
  • In 2006, males accounted for 83.1 percent of all persons arrested for violent crimes and for 77.7 percent of all persons arrested for property crimes in nonmetropolitan counties.
  • In nonmetropolitan counties, males were most often arrested for driving under the influence, 122,696 arrests, and drug abuse violations, 73,128 arrests, respectively.
  • Females were most often arrested in nonmetropolitan counties for driving under the influence (27,903 arrests) and drug abuse violations (19,260 arrests).
