  • Of all persons arrested in the Nation’s cities during 2006, 67.0 percent were white, 30.5 were black, and the remainder were of other races.
  • In 2006, 55.2 percent of the persons arrested for violent crime and 66.6 percent of persons arrested for property crime were white.
  • Black persons made up 56.2 percent of all people arrested for murder and nonnegligent manslaughter and 57.5 percent of all persons arrested for robbery.
  • Among all juveniles arrested, 65.8 percent were white.
  • Black juveniles comprised 53.3 percent of all juveniles arrested for violent crime, and white juveniles made up 65.5 percent of the juveniles arrested for property crime.
  • White juveniles accounted for 58.8 percent of the juveniles arrested for forcible rape and 53.5 percent of juveniles arrested for aggravated assault.
  • Black juveniles made up 60.9 percent and 67.7 percent of the juveniles arrested for murder and nonnegligent manslaughter and robbery, respectively.
