Arrest Trends, Suburban Areas, by Sex, 2004-2005Download Data Declaration
The FBI collects these data through the Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program.
The data used in creating this table were from all suburban area law enforcement agencies submitting 12 months of complete arrest data for both 2004 and 2005.
The FBI calculated 2005 state growth rates using revised 2004 state/national population estimates and 2005 provisional state/national population estimates provided by the U.S. Census Bureau. The FBI then estimated population figures for jurisdictions in suburban areas by applying the 2005 state growth rate to the updated 2004 U.S. Census Bureau data. Similarly, the FBI estimated 2004 population figures for jurisdictions in suburban areas by applying the 2004 state growth rates to the updated 2004 U.S. Census Bureau data. The 2004 state growth rate was based on the difference between the U.S. Census Bureau's 2003 revised population estimates and 2004 provisional population estimates.
