1. Operation Malicious Mortgage Nets 406 Individuals

Charges in Operation Malicious Mortgage, a nationwide takedown of mortgage fraud schemes which inflicted approximately $1 billion in losses, were brought in every region of the country. Full Story

2. San Francisco: Chinese National Sentenced for Economic Espionage

Xiaodong Sheldon Meng misappropriated a trade secret from his employer to benefit the People’s Republic of China. Full Story

3. Tampa: Guilty Plea in Providing Material Support to Terrorists

Ahmed Abdellatif Sherif Mohamed intended to have his technology be used against those who fight for the United States. Full Story

4. Washington Field: Cirrus Electronics CEO Sentenced for Violation of Arms Control Act

Parthasarathy Sudarshan was sentenced for illegally exporting controlled electronic components to India for use in missiles, space launch vehicles and fighter jets. Full Story

5. Cleveland: Three Convicted of Conspiring to Commit Terrorist Acts Against Americans Overseas

Mohammad Zaki Amawi, Marwan Othman El-Hindi, and Wassim I. Mazloum were convicted of conspiring to kill or maim U.S. persons outside the U.S. and conspiring to provide material support to terrorists. Full Story

6. New York: Police Officer and Bank Teller Indicted on Bank Robbery Charges

New York City Police Officer Christian Torres and Christina Dasrath were indicted for conspiring to defraud a Manhattan bank where Dasrath was employed as a teller. Full Story

7. Boston: Arrest in Lasing LNG Tanker Helicopter Escort

Gerard Sasso was arrested and charged with shining a green laser beam at a State Police helicopter which was escorting a liquid natural gas tanker through Boston Harbor. Full Story

8. Atlanta: Project Safe Childhood Nabs Notorious Child Predator

James Bartholomew “Bart” Huskey was arrested and charged with producing a notorious series of images of child sexual abuse which were uploaded to the internet. Full Story

9. New York: Bear Stearns Senior Managers Indicted

Ralph Cioffi and Matthew Tannin, hedge fund senior managers, were indicted on charges of conspiracy, securities fraud and wire fraud which resulted in losses to investors of more than $1 billion. Full Story

10. New York: Samuel Israel's Girlfriend Arrested

Debra Ryan was arrested for aiding and abetting the failure to surrender of her boyfriend, Samuel Israel III, the convicted former CEO of the now-collapsed Bayou Hedge Funds.  Full Story
