FBI Director Announces Kevin R. Brock as New
Assistant Director for the Office of Intelligence

Washington, D.C. – Director Robert S. Mueller, III, today announced that Kevin R. Brock, former Special Agent in Charge of the Cincinnati Division, will serve as Assistant Director for the Office of Intelligence.

Mr. Brock entered on duty with the FBI in August 1983, and began his career investigating homicides and assault matters on Indian reservations. For over the past 20 years, he has investigated cases involving all of the FBI’s major areas of jurisdiction, including criminal matters, domestic terrorism, cyber crime, counterintelligence, and counterterrorism. Mr. Brock has also been highly successful in forging relationships with other law enforcement agencies both in the United States and internationally in support of joint investigations. He has served in FBI field offices in Albuquerque, Los Angeles, Seattle, Detroit, and, most recently, in Cincinnati.

Director Mueller said, “To be fully successful, the Office of Intelligence requires personnel with a wide range of work experience and knowledge of every sector within the FBI. Kevin’s wealth of experience and expertise in nearly all of the FBI’s priority areas is invaluable. I am confident that he will make strong contributions as we expand our intelligence program and develop additional capabilities in intelligence analysis and reporting.”

Mr. Brock will focus on enhancing FBI standards for intelligence processes and improving the career development program for analysts. As Assistant Director, Mr. Brock will also further Bureau-wide efforts to build a strong, comprehensive intelligence program.
Mr. Brock is a graduate of the University of Connecticut and has a B.A. in Political Science. Prior to joining the FBI, he was employed by an engineering company in Sacramento, California.
