Kenneth
W. Kaiser – Assistant Director, Criminal Investigative Division
Mr. Kaiser
joined the FBI as a special agent in 1982, after serving
as a special agent in the State Department's Bureau of Diplomatic
Security in New York City. In his early FBI career, he was
assigned to offices in New York, New Orleans, and Detroit,
serving both in Detroit and in the Oakland County Resident
Agency.
In November
1990, Mr. Kaiser was promoted to the Counterterrorism Planning
Unit, Terrorism Section, Criminal Investigative Division.
There he was responsible for Special Events Management, Aviation
Security, and other terrorism matters. In February 1993, he
was transferred to the Indianapolis Division where he supervised
the Violent Crimes Squad, the SWAT Team, and served as the
Division's Crisis Management Coordinator. In 1997, Mr. Kaiser
was designated the Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the
Indianapolis Division, holding management responsibility for
all investigative and administrative programs.
In October
1999, Mr. Kaiser was temporarily assigned to the Inspection
Division as an Inspector, then served as the Chief Inspector
of the Inspection Division from April 2000 until August 2001.
At that time, he returned to lead one of his earlier offices,
serving as the Special Agent in Charge (SAC) of the New Orleans
Division, where he had responsibility for FBI operations in
the state of Louisiana. In January 2003, he was appointed
SAC Boston. In Boston, he had responsibility for FBI operations
in four New England states. He has also served as chairman
of the SAC Advisory Committee. In September 2005, Mr. Kaiser
returned to New Orleans a third time, as the FBI on-scene
commander responsible for the command and control of all Bureau
tactical assets deployed to the area soon after Hurricane
Katrina made landfall and devastated that city.
On November
3, 2006, Mr. Kaiser was designated Assistant Director of the
Inspection Division. As Assistant Director of the Inspection
Division, he had responsibility for inspections of all FBI
Headquarters, field offices, and Legat entities, as well as
shooting reviews and internal administrative investigations.
In April 2007, he was named Assistant Director of the Criminal
Investigative Division. He is responsible for coordinating,
managing, and directing all criminal investigative programs
nationwide.
Mr. Kaiser
received the Presidential Rank of Meritorious Executive in
2004 and was designated as the Principal Federal Official
of the NFL Super Bowl in Jacksonville, Florida in 2005. He
was born in Evanston, Illinois, and received his Bachelor
of Arts in Economics from Wheaton College in Illinois. Mr.
Kaiser is married and has a son and a daughter.
